How does the film poster for The Man with the Golden Gun communicate meaning with genre?

Many genre conventions of an action film are shown clearly through The Man with the Golden Gun poster including the colour scheme of  orange and blue since these are complete opposites on the colour spectrum implying a constant battle between good and evil. These storylines often are associated with the action genre and so people may already be able to tell this is an action based movie just from the poster. The colour orange is often associated with the action genre in general and the vast majority of the written text on the poster is orange creating this clear idea that the film is action based. Also visible on the poster are elements of the action genre such as locations and explosions. it is evident there is some form of fire linking to the idea of explosions occurring. Another key aspect of the main image is that Bond is holding a gun which has connotations of action and battles showing clearly the genre conventions. Not only is Bond centrally placed on the poster showing not only his importance within the film but also the guns, there is a golden gun at the foreground of the image seemingly pointing towards Bond almost as if the bullet is meant for him. This also can be associated with the action genre since it could link to the imagery of battle and the fight between good and evil.

 Tuesday 4th October 2022 LO: To analyse a media text using Media Language They have chosen to use a medium long shot for this poster so that you can see his hands as he is wearing gloves and has a gun which shows some connotations. They have used this shot so that you can see his facial expression clearly whereas with a long shot it wouldn't be as noticeable. His clothing connotes that he is on a mission as he looks as if he is going to do something serious which is also shown by his facial expression. Do Now: Food Magazines: (code and conventions) Shot type - A lot of them use close up of food and specific recipes that people will see and be interested in. Colour Palette - The magazines use light neutral colours. Font Styles - Simple font styles almost looking as if handwritten. Sub-Genre: (music magazines) Rock  Pop Heavy Metal Boy band Country Rap Electronic Jazz  Rock music:   The magazines use a lot of black which shows it is a rock magazine.
