To create an effective homepage for a new site of your choice.

Brand Name: Stitching for teens

Type of Brand: Cross stitching/embroidery

What we do: Cross stitch designs 

Aim of the site: To provide a variety of cross stitch patterns from different tv shows and films

Site content: cross stitch patterns and a shop (?) for embroidery supplies

Target Audience: teenagers

Unique selling point: The website not only provides patterns but also a shop (?) to buy supplies. Most embroidery websites are targeted towards older people however this is specifically for teenagers.

1.What colour scheme is used and how does it link to the genre/product/company?
The colour scheme is a mix of blues and purples which are quite elegant colours and go well together.
2.What information is included on the homepage?
It tells you some of the things on sale or that are new to the website.
3.What links are there?
It includes links to shops and how to learn how to do embroidery.
4.What images and videos are used?
They use pictures of some of the most interesting patterns on their website to intrigue the audience.
5.How is the brand represented?
They have the logo at the top of their pages and includes colourful pictures to show what their websites include.

 Tuesday 4th October 2022 LO: To analyse a media text using Media Language They have chosen to use a medium long shot for this poster so that you can see his hands as he is wearing gloves and has a gun which shows some connotations. They have used this shot so that you can see his facial expression clearly whereas with a long shot it wouldn't be as noticeable. His clothing connotes that he is on a mission as he looks as if he is going to do something serious which is also shown by his facial expression. He is wearing gloves showing he doesn't want to be found out by anyone. He might not want his fingerprints on anything showing he is a very secretive character.  Tuesday 20th June 2023 LO:  To identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes and conventions. Do Now: Food Magazines: (code and conventions) Shot type - A lot of them use close up of food and specific recipes that people will see and be interested in. Colour Palette - The magazines use light neutral colours. Font Styles - Simple font styles almost looking as if handwritten. Sub-Genre: (music magazines) Rock  Pop Heavy Metal Boy band Country Rap Electronic Jazz  Rock music:   The magazines use a lot of black which shows it is a rock magazine. They also use a dark colour palette which is usually black, white and another colour. They use a close up of the band/artist that the main cover line is about.
